    Hi

I am going to purchase a tyre guage fo my 03 BB.

Anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced accurate
    guage?

The tyre pressure is supposed to be checked while cold, does a 1/2 klm
ride to a servo warm the tyres up much?

Depends if you do any Dubbo-style tyre warming I suppose.

Get a digital one from Dick Smith. Test you can fit it on your bike
before buying, the small ones can be tricky to get past disks.
Doubt it, the poor molecules are hardly awake, let alone zooming round
at any speed. But you can test that easy enough.

  5. These come highly recommended by some friends of mine who work at
Qantas, apparently they use them to check 747 tires, and while thay have
very stringent calibration requirements and they get tested regularly,
apparently they are _always_ accurate and they've never even heard of a
single one being far enough out of calibration to need
    adjusting/replacing.

Having said that, I use a cheapo pen type pressure guage that I got
given "free with every set of tires" for the Beetle in a previous
life... It may not be absolutely accurate, but it _is_ consistent, and I
know that when it says 27psi, thats good for the Spada (vale Spada) on
the track, and when it says 36psi, its good for the Monster on the
street. They may not actually be exactly 27 and 36 psi, but they are
close, and more importantly they are the same pressure as last time when
    it said 27 or 36...

and to be really accurate an altimeter and possibly a barometer, you can't
    be too careful

  13. 'cause the tires work the same on the track when the guage reads the
    same.

(I've also spend some time with it taking a bunch of readings off the
same tire and it always re-measures to within half a psi or so)
