Tyre lifespan on a Bandit 600?

Does anybody know what the normal rear tyre lifespan is on a Bandit
600? Not sure of the tyre make.

I had a reasonably new-ish front tyre on my bike when purchased (1998
bandit) and a rear of approximately the same age/wear (eg not much
wear at all). I have done about 6k miles since I acquired the bike
and just noticed the rear is getting very worn (I suspect an eeeek
decelleration on the M6 accounts for it being "very" worn as compared
to the "slightly worn" condition of a few weeks previous). Is this
kind of mileage to be expected or average for a bike of this type?

Front tyre looks like it has a good few miles left in it though.

    6k is fine for a rear on a B6.

Any harder compound than this and you will find wet weather riding
    'interesting'

To be honest it was a slightly wet day today and I thought about going
out - it was the wear on the tyre that put a stopper on it (thought
any stopping could be "interesting") - the next time it goes out is
later next week for a service, MOT and new tyre!

Wow. I imagine that would be on something like a Macadam 90. That got
to 6.5K on the Blackbird, and was still not worn out. [1]

On more sensible rubber, 6k on a middleweight like the bindit seems
    fair.

That's what I got on the BT52 it came with, and similar on the MEZ4
    that replaced it

  7. What make/model are they? My Bindit did well enough on its Bridgstone
BT020, a little over 8k when I binned it and it still had a way to go
    to the wear indicators.

The BT021 on the back of my 20ish BHP more powerful Fazer has done a
little over 8k and still has a couple of mm till the wear indicator.

Sport touring tyres will be a good purchase when you're looking for
replacements. The BT021s are a little pricey, though that might just
    be my supplier/fitter.

Absolutely no idea. I'll be checking that out to price up a new one
    tomorrow.
