Can anyone tell me why tyres go blue. I went into my garage at the weekend
and my front tyre was very blue down the edges on both sides. Its on a

Blue chicken strips show that you've lost your bottle.
Shiny chicken strips show that you always were timid.

I last rode the bike 2 weeks before I last rode it last weekend when I noted
    that they were very blue.

    Cheers

It's probably some of the chemicals in the tyre making
their way out to the surface. I get it on the race bike between
meetings. It's nothing to worry about as it soon scrubs off,
and as my tyres get used for three track sessions then get
put in the garage (and the tyres get checked when taken off)
it's not a sign of premature wear or anything.

Cheers guys that makes me feel much better. I was about to re-trace my steps
to see if I had been on any of the new blue roads in Wales.

That'll be rubber virus[1] then. Eats into the first 10 thousandth of
an inch of the rubber and breeds. Likes it dark, cool and damp so a
garage in winter is quite ideal. Only really dangerous when present in
large numbers when some degradation of the tyre will happen. Killed
when the tyres get warm, re-infection happens by spores blown on the
    wind.

[1] Actually it is a rubber eating yeast but it don't scan so folks get
it wrong deliberate like for dramatic effect. Just the sort of thing
    BGN would say it is.

It's a temperature thing. You've managed to overheat them somehow.
