I need to get new rubber on my 750 (98/99) so am looking to replace the
    current 120/70 and 190/50 Metzlers...

    Any suggestions?

    TIA

Bridgestone BT010s always suited mine well. Not convinced with them
    on the Thou though.

    When I got a new front in mid-July I couldn't get an 010 because they've
    been discontinued.

My tame mechanic assured me that the 014 was the direct replacement and I've
    been pretty happy with it.

I had heard they were being removed but I didn't know what the
    replacement was.

So they've 'improved' in the wet then?

It's the 014 - (as mentioned previously) the 800 I did on my set of 014's
was most pleasant. Not hugely different in 'feel' to the 010's though... and
I haven't tried them in the rain.

As I've now had experience of 020's and some sort of Metzeler rim protector,
I am quite looking forward to my 014 shod motorcycle returning.

Mine will be due for a change shortly so I'll give the 014s a try.

IMO, they're a good all round [1] tyre and give plenty of feedback,
especially in the wet. I almost got 2,000 miles out the rear once.

    [1] Bring it on.

Heh - I've never got less than 4k out of a tyre [1]

[1] it's getting less and less though. Possibly I'm riding the bike
    differently :)

The gixxer thou does put out a lot more torque as well.

The back is fine, it's the front that doesn't inspire confidence. I
don't think the profile is right for the back, and given that OEM spec
is an 011, Suzuki would seem to agree.

They can push out a bit but you get plenty of warning.

Thanks for you opinions, it looks like a set of 010s (if I can get them)or
    014's then

Don't forget to get a 180 rear instead of the 190.

Have you tried both? If so is the difference really that much and is it
a good thing? I find the steering quite quick on mine anyway with a 190
on, but then my knowledge of these matters isn't that great.
