Tyres scrubbed in.

Finally got off my arse and got the tyres, which have been sitting by
the bike since I got back from The Land of Porridge in October, fitted
    on Tuesday.
I invested in a new torque wrench last year, thanks to pikey central
Aldi division. So, suitably armed with something marked in NM, not all
the other variations on my other wrenches, everything was snugged down
nicely yesterday. A quick 10 miles round the block late yesterday
afternoon proved everything working as its supposed to, apart from the
    rider, natch.

SWMBO, peace be upon her, let me sod off to scrub the tyres in over
    lunchtime.

A swift barrel down the A5 into Wales gave only two clumps of traffic
which were easily passed.Thankfully I got baulked by an old dear in a
reasonably immaculate old Beemer as I came out of Corwen, camera van
sitting in ambush as one exits the town. ****.

The weather visible from this point also put the mockers on my projected
ride down past the abode of one of the Nordkapp5, so a swift left up
into the hills and across the tops to Llangynog,
http://twitpic.com/438qjo then back along the Tanat valley to home.

A swift 65 miles and the tyres mostly scrubbed in. I enjoyed it.

So, Cab, how's the Powerpoint going?

I took the afternoon off as "study leave".

Bright sunshine meant the bike finally rolled out of the garage and I did a
blast along the A465 towards Hereford to ensure everything, including me,
is working and then cut across to Wormelow. Joined the Ross-Aber road and
came home via Cross Ash, Golden Valley (wonderous views across the Black
Mountains to Hay Bluff) to rejoin the A465 by the Skirrid and home. Very
enjoyable, just wish I'd worn the neck tube as it got a bit nippy when the
    wind got up.

Everything is working fine but the bike is looking quite scruffy as its 11
years old now and there's loads of corrosion.

I'm considering a run next Thursday - should have clearance to drive /
    ride again on Monday.

Hah, mine is festooned with new and newly powder coated bits. Had to
get it all done sharpish, the warranty runs out on Feb 28th
