I just had my car serviced by Nationwide/Halfords. I needed 2 new tyres to
pass the MOT and their prices for 195/45x16 tyres were very similar to
    blackcircles.com and etyres.co.uk - 2x Indonesian things for £135 inc
balancing etc. They had some cheaper Chinese ones but I used my "don't buy
the very cheapest" rationalisation. Anyway, get some online quotes and ring
a few in yellow pages to see if they will beat the prices.

That price is fine but I'd expect a set of VREDESTEIN SPORTRAC3 for the
    money. Or perhaps £8-10 more.

I'm a big fan of the V brand ATM

I couldn't be arsed to faff about going through the range or taking it to
the "under the arches place" in Roath to save a tenner. The car is only a
125bhp C2, not some snarling V8 so the Indonesian Accelera will do.

Does a 125bhp C2 have some kind of force field around it that a snarling
    V8 doesn't have? - because if you're doing 30mph on a wet road, and
someone steps out / pulls out in front of you, you may find that your 5
quid a corner saving to buy Indonesian shit costs you a **** load more
when your car takes several metres longer to stop than it would on
    decent tyres....

Actually, the brakes are so sharp in the C2 that I would appreciate a
little extra time to brace myself before the seatbelt attempts to break
    my sternum.

oh, and this test seems to give the brand the thumbs up, coming ahead of
    Dunlop overall in both categories
