Glad you took it the way I meant it - I somehow doubt anyone other GP
teams would notice - if I'm pushing my tyres that close to the edge on a
public road Gerry will be setting up an M60 position...
yeah cool thanks. I don't mind paying money for things that are dubious
I'll actually be able to tell the benefit of, like carbon fibre
whatnots, but that's way off into too rarified levels of kidding
    yourself for me.

    JL
(I'm going to go with the Pilot Powers, I rather liked the Pilot Sports
    on the TRX)

Is that special Racing Nitrogen? I mean, if performance isn't
important to you, sure, lug around 0.4% of deadbeat N-15, but
professional riders prefer 100% pure N-14 for crisper throttle
    response and punchier bass reproduction.

(Surely by now someone is offering Argon filling at a
    suitable noble price ...?)

In that case you want Pilot Race (which comes in different compounds not
    pilot power

The AV45/46 is the sport tour tyre and the AV59/60 is the sport tyre.
IMHO the Pilot Power is a better tyre and the race stickier still..

Haven't run them myself.... would if they weren't so expensive compared
to the Power and BT014's. They are over $500 a set, where as the powers
    are under $400!

    Powers for me....

Tyres (tubes in my case) have 80% nitrogen in them already. What have these
    blokes got against oxygen?

Sell the stickers and give the Nitrogen away ... hey Nursie,
    what's compressed Nitrogen worth anyway?

my vote for metzeler sportec m-1's I went through two sets of these on
a CBR 1000f, and i really liked them. I know the hurricane isnt up
there with the current crop of go-fast bikes, but i gave plenty of
riders on quicker machines a good dusting off with these rubbers.
They're marketed as a super-sport tire, but i got pretty good mileage
out of them. They were perfect for my style of riding; long distance
high speed agressive sport touring. I rode these mostly in Korea on
twisty high speed roads, 600-700kms a day at sustained speeds of about
180km/h and peaking out at about 220. I wont go much faster than that
on public roads. I also used them in New Zealand, which sort of has
similar terrain but with not as nice roads and less forgiving police.
These tires were *really* confidence inspiring, i was scraping the pegs
from cold a lot of days and they were also reasonable in the wet.
breaking was excellent. I havent tried the pilots so i cant compare,
but i would definately buy this tire for a high speed apllication again
    in the future.

I've got a Michelin something-or-other in the shed that I swapped
a bloke a six pack of beer for... you can have that for a six
    pack of beer!

(Actually, you can't. My front is down to the indicators. Will
get it swapped on as soon as I can figure out who to have do it!)

I won;t be slipping these on the Trumpy then.. It's known to be sitting
idle in the garage for around 14 weeks.

Sounds like the tread falls off quicker than the air seeps out of the
    valves.

So how many kays does your 14 weeks translate to?

Generous guy you are, but naah I want something sticky not touring -
    thanks anyway(1).
Well Northside quoted me $40 to fit the tyre if I bought the pilot power
off them, there'd have to be somewhere cheaper than that !

    JL
    (1) What sort of silly bugger(2) gives away a perfectly good tyre for 2
    6 packs ? Madness...
    (2) Nice beer, ta !

Yeah I checked out the website and ummed and ahhed. I think I'll try the
Pilot's first (I'm sure they'll be better than the BT56's on it), and
then try the Race after that.

That's cheap I was quoted $288 for a rear plus fitting, didn't price the
front (it's got a thousand K or so left) but I doubt it'll be $110...

    Where from ?
