and I was quoted 490 for a set of Avons - 120 front 190 rear - which in my
maths is under $500 a set...................

but then again I read it on the net..........................

Mackay - when you buy a pair! I think they can be had in Brisbane for a
    similar price

    Also Dunlops, Pirelli's and Bridgestones....

Narr Redline Honda. I looked into it for some other Sydney blokes and
IIRC it was $380 a set, plus about $12 freight per tyre.... but then you
    have to fit them

Bastards quoted me fifty bucks this morning to fit the tyre even
after I told them I was in the market for an R1[1].
    Oi! I resemble that remark!
    Ya welcome.

    G

[1] I'm not... but I *am* in the market for a test-ride on an R1

I guess they took one look and thought, "too much money we'd better fix
    that" :)

is that , remove wheel from bike, remove old tyre, fit new tyre ,
balance tyre, and refit wheel to bike ?

    $40 is fair price,

  15. Had a Pirelli Diablo Strada fitted to the TDM today, the shop charged me $10
fitting. I had to ask about it as I've never paid separate for fitting a
tyre ever before. I usually take the wheel in, the shop fits the tyre free
when I buy it there. This shop they said, bring the bike or the wheel, it's
$10 fitting. All because my local has decided its Dunlop or Bridgstone only
for them from now on. I was after eider the PDS (see above) or Metzeler
    Roadtec Z6.

St Marys a bit far west for you though JL. Chivos at Granville are usually
    pretty good.

Shit am I that predictable ? Yes, two weeks after I asked I still
haven't quite got around to it yet (there's this R1 in the garage ya see)

(who me procrastinate ? Naah I'll get to that later)

  17. Predictable? Nuh, just guessing, I wouldn't go anywhere east of Parramatta
for a tyre myself either for much the same reasons. Lithgow would be
    preferable to Lane Cove.
