UK speed cameras are just for bikes

  1. Based on repeated usage, I assume that's what the hip british expats
in spain are saying this season.

  2. <bites> I actually coined it in my house. It just seemed natural. I very
rarely speak with other ex-pats, so I'm unlikely to have picked it up
from them. Actually, the only other ex-pat I communicate with lives in
France, and thinking about it, he says yuk as well.

Anyway, Britain is slowly getting most of those ex-pats back, as they can
no longer afford to live here.

  3. Bollocks. Expats - one word. I'm not normally a rampant hyphenator.

  4. Define civilised. Here, one can have sex at 13 years old and still have a
cigarette with one's beer. Mind you, the dog shit and rubbish remind me
that this country didn't develop much during 30 years.

  5. I paid four fees to Hertz for their costs of forwarding my details to
French Plod of four separate speeding offences, yeronner.

And that was the last I heard about it. Hertz told me that Plod wasn't
allowed to bill them, now that they'd told Plod who was driving the car,
so they weren't going to bill me. It all depended on whether Plod
    decided to pursue me.

Little Bruvver, who lives near Toulouse, reckoned I'd never hear a thing
and, seventeen months later, I still haven't.

  9. Really? It reads to me just like "micro$haft".
Britain is getting the shitty end of that stick.

They had my address in Spain, but gave plod my daughter's address
because my UK credit card is registered there. I feel certain that
that is illegal. Credit card details are private.
Yes. I paid it just to save my little'un getting grief.

Interesting point under the data protection act, Shirley?
Disclosure of data is a _very_ strange and grey area nowadays with said act
    in force?
