"Robots" ... pretty good with quite a few LOL moments and enough adult
humour to keep the parents amused.

Unfortunately it was outshone by the trailer for Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the
Galaxy which preceded it. I had no idea that the film was so close, but it
    looks pretty good.

Excellent, one more to go and see then.
Now that's something which was over due for a remake.

  3. Funnily enough, when I think of HHGTTG, I always think of the wireless
    version.

Ages ago, and takes far too long to watch in one hit, funny though.

AndrewR emerged from their own little world to say
Ah, good. Something to do on the first night of my Easter holiday which
begins with a night in a Gatwick hotel.

Last week's had more LOL moments, but I enjoyed this week's episode more ...
lesbian gophers, drug dealing flamingoes and workout warthogs ... what more
    could you ask for?

  11. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember
    (The Older Gentleman) saying
    something like:
That's the first version I encountered, around 1979/80ish. The books
sort of dragged it together and the TV series was utter pish.

  12. I was a student at the time and we didn't have a telly, but I had a
    radio. Hence the memories.

I remember listening to the radio version and being disappointed when I
saw it on the television. We had a colour set too.
