Derogatory references to homosexuality made by Top Gear's Jeremy
Clarkson had the potential to offend and should not have been broadcast,
    the BBC has ruled.

Have a read of just what he said!

Clearly what Britain needs is a law inspired by UKRM habits
"It is right and good to offend other people"
Clearly, if someone is so sensitive they can be so easily offended, they
should be harried and pilloried until they A) kill themselves B) develop
    a SOfuckingH

Well done Clarkson, however given the power of the Pink Mafia in Media I
bet the boy is hiding under a stone

I don't have a problem with Clarkson in Top Gear mode on the whole
(although I'm not a fan) but don't feel 'very ginger beer' or 'queer'
    is offensive these days.

I use terms like this in my normal life anyway. Humour is a good way
of breaking down boundaries and neutralising subjects like this. If
fellow woofters use terms like 'queer' themselves then they take away
offensive meaning from the words. If they use them the power goes
    away.

Other queers protested, marched, stood up for equality and the rights
of future generations of queers and were attacked and slaughtered for
what they believed in. It would be a travesty if the PC brigade
turned all that they worked hard and died for into a trivial argument
    'ginger beer.'

    Just my 2p's worth.

  5. Awfully sensitive, some people. The way I see it, if there were only 4
complaints, they should be utterly ignored and paid no heed whatsoever
as being representative of the opinion of the greater audience.
    I don't suppose he'll give a shite about it.

He needn't be and My Beeb is very vulnerable to public opinion and
despite the fact he is an utter **** I dare say that public opinion
could easily be inflamed/inspired to work for his corner.[1]

[1] The BBC are used to getting comment on various things coming
through the mails, and public opinion generally is taken to follow the
    opinions expressed in the deluges.

Years ago just a handful of letters from various parts of the Kingdom
were enough to get a series pulled or an apology issued. With the
advent of the Interweb and easy, instant access to the complaining
machine the numbers complaining have gone up some but not by as many as
    you may think.

Last night the BBC ran, as it's main news story, the fact that they had
received over 1000 emails in response to the Ipswich murders. 1000
emails are enough to make that in itself a major tag? If 100 of you, if
you could even gaf, were to write in Jerry's defence the Bullies in Pink
would be well and truly sent on their way.

I wrote (emailed) in already to give my view (pretty much the same as
what I wrong in reply to Hog) as I didn't want the world to think that
all uphill gardeners were the same.

  9. Good chap. I didn't find it offensive, made Oi larf. But I am not of the
community that the Beeb seems to think might have taken the hump.

I am however, female. So, am I supposed to email the Beeb whenever some
testosterone laden oick refers to something as "girlie" in a pejorative
    fashion? I think not.

Ho very noble of you, well done.

Did you also add that your comments should in no way be considered as
encouragement to JC to continue his career as a TV Personality and that
whether he is a closet or not the world would be better off not seeing
him and his overdone exhalations ever again and in either event he would
remain as ever he was, just some obnoxious ****?

Well I emailed in his defence too. No group should be considered
sacrosanct (from humour), especially a bunch as precious as the Pink
Media. Likewise anyone who thinks Queer is a pejorative term needs
rooting with good size marrow. Oh look www.queer.ie

If that was meant to be funny you failed.

If you meant it you're a twat of the highest order as Nick didn't rant.

Or maybe you can't read and get someone else to type that kind of drivel for
    you....?

    No. Unfortunately.. :(

I just think that the one I responded to is a sad twat as he proved with his
response to me. Which means I may have a new person in the mong-bin for the
first time in ages (it's only had Tony in it for a long long while and I
guess he could do with some company....)

    Dave

PS. "Wavey" with an 'e'? Was that a reference to the drugs??? :)
