It's had an effect over here too. Whilst it doesn't excuse the shit
roads in the area of the French run, there have been areas that have
suffered quite badly, apparently.

Well, I work in Geneva, it would be a long commute.

I lived in Paris for five years, actually, including a couple of years on
the Rue des Ecouffes in the Marais, which might mean something to you. It
was wonderful, it's a marvellous city. But I always missed the mountains.

No escaping it, I'm afraid.

 

I used to get falafels on the rue des Rosiers, just opposite the end of
the rue des Ecouffes. It probably wasn't the same place though - this was
in the early '80s.

Damn. It *is* the same place.

 

I think I picked up a speeding ticket and a red-light [0] camera
ticket there last week, in a ghastly little rental car.


[0] it was fucking yellow, all the way through, even after the flash
had flashed and after i'd got to the other side. ffs
