ukrm travel club: Okinawa

Anyone been there? I have to get from Osaka to Taipei with a weekend to
spare in between. I was thinking of checking it out. The only downside
is the connecting flight to Taipei is with China Air.

 

When I lived in Japan for a while I knew a few people who went, the
reports were generally that it was very merkinized. Got the shit bombed
out of it during the war, now the largest US military base in Japan, so
much of the traditional japanese cultural stuff is long since gone.
Depending on how much of mainland japan you've done, you'd probably be
better off staying there and doing kyoto/nara etc
