Thanks for pulling up and giving me a hand yesterday .. much appreciated.
You could have just spent the time you took to memorise the number plate to say thanks in person. Nev.. '07 XB12X
Nah, fuel hose came off (some dolt forget to re-recheck it after taking the tank off) and I got *almost* to the white servo at Tele point (Port, Wauchope, Tele Pt, Port like we rode a while back) when it just died on me as the hose had come off. Still not sure I'm game to travel that road in the other direction yet. My non-Asian fingers are not long / nimble enough to reach under and reattach it with the tank in the way... and I'd left the shifter in the garage. By the time I had someone stop and help who also had a spanner handy (coincidentally the first person who stopped was the first bike to go past..) I'd gotten to the Blackman's point turnoff and to be quite honest, my legs and arms were pretty damned sore Even though it's a light bike it still weighs 3x what I do .. All's well that ends well.
Not cynical just curious at what motivates someone to post a 'thank you' in a usenet group which has a readership of about 0.001% of the riding population, when the target was presumably right there 100% in earshot giving him a hand. Nev.. '07 XB12X
Yeebers didn't say whether or not he had thanked the person in person, so you're jumping to a bit of a conclusion there, Nev, by assuming that he didn't. I'll jump to a conclusion of my own and suggest that he probably DID say thank you in person - most well-mannered people would. I think the public acknowledgement is a nice touch - and this is as good a forum as any for that. betty
Thankyou Betty. It's also an indirect implication that if you see *them* stuck, you should help, as you know they'd do the same for you.
I know you did. It was me. I'd appreciate it if you didn't spread around my bike rego. Thanks. Nev.. '07 XB12X
I was wondering why you're (collectively) speculating wildly rather than reading my answers but then I remembered it's aus.moto ..
Oh, _finally_ someone gave Yeebers the public acknowledgement he was seeking! Thank you, Betty. Nev.. '07 XB12X
