....was great fun! A small crowd, a giant bonfire, wild overnight winds, a
sky chockers with stars... great company!

Thanks heaps to BTH & Minx for another triffic Unaugural!

My Limited Edition side-stand "coaster" is in pride of place at home next to
my Wintersun award for "furtherest female"... I'd hoped to win the "furthest
travelled" award yesterday, (opportunistic award-grab attempt in the absence
of Victorian Ausmotians!), and went from Canberra to Tarago the long way
<snigger> via Cooma, Bemboka, Bermagui and Batemans Bay, tee hee! It's
always nice to turn a 100km ride into a 500+km one!

Was great fun - and good to meet Bamfy at last! She kicked dirt in my face
all the way on the dreaded gravel bit to Funkytown ;-) so I gave her a good
head start on the home run today. Her dust had settled by the time I got on
the road, but she was there waiting at the end of the gravel - thanks mate!

So now - washing has been done. Bike has been washed. Time to watch the
motoGP - geez, a daytime telecast! Life doesn't get much better than this
    :)

Weird, I didn't feel the wind on the gravel and the wind was fine on the
    highway back to Syd...

Some images below [not very good, it was early early all right?]

Minx and BT, you are kind to strange motorcyclists (and some without motors
    aren't you?)

    Thanks again Andrew

Cheers all. Great video and photos!

There's always a good half-hour of me panicking and fretting about the
neighbours and the national park 50km away and life as we know it.
Thanks for getting me through that.

Hoots! How did you manage to cobble *that* together so quickly? Very
    impressed!

Thanks everyone for helping with the packing up, that went MUCH more
quickly than usual. I'm sure that you noticed the combined effect
that the pollen/wind/smoke/ash was having on my hayfever, so I'm
    really quite grateful.

On the way home I reached the second "Unaugural" sign[1] before I
remembered them, so I had to double back to the front gate to retrieve
the first one. Then I met Aeek just after the start of the bitumen
and went another couple of km down the road before I remembered the
"6km" sign, so I had to turn around, pass Aeek again, collect the
sign, turn around again, pass Aeek for a 3rd time...

After dealing with a couple more errands on the way I got home at
about 12pm to discover that the washing machine had torn a hole in its
door gasket and flooded the laundry. After I helped clean that up,
removed the door gasket[2], applied a big bicycle tyre patch to the
gasket and rotated it so that the hole was toward the top[3], and put
everything back together, I was feeling thoroughly wretched. I went
to bed at about 3pm and stayed there until 8am this morning.

    Feeling better now, though.

Funny how some bikes become friends and are much loved and others are
    complete mistakes.

Its not a brand thing - some just click.

The trick is to be honest about the mistakes and look after the ones that
    make you smile.

    Best, Andrew

Have you forgotten BTH's lovely weeny Honda??? You know, that thing
clearly made for small people with BIG feet and LONG arms.

betty, whose feet didn't stretch from
one end of the gear shifter to the other,
and whose arms couldn't reach the
    bloody key either.

We thought about you as we attempted to make the morning coffee - then
couldn't find it! So, did you decide you were a fan of Home Brand
Instant Coffee Granules after all? ;-)

Another great Unaugural--got home at 2am,after visiting friends at
    their new house in Marulan.
Almost bought myself a Magna for $500 while I was there (I refused to
check the asking price on the purple Plymouth Superbird at Truckstop
31,in case I could afford it...)

Still haven't bought new tentpoles to replace the two destroyed at the
    6.1.
Also haven't started packing for Phillip Island yet...

You'll be pleased to hear that Suzuki have discontinued the SV now (well the
    650 at least).
    Meet the replacement:
    http://www.thebikergene.com/naked-bikes/650cc-suzuki-gladius-unveiled-in-paris/
(Biker Betty and I saw the pink one at Phillip Island and can report that it
IS as hideous in the flesh as it looks on paper)

Yes, <sob> HIDEOUS HIDEOUS BLOODY HIDEOUS!!!!! And I'm not at ALL pleased to
hear that the gorgeous SV650 has been discontinued! Finally I have found my
perfect bike in the lovely SV650S (ok, it's too tall and the seat's a plank,
but apart from that...what have the Romans ever done for us?) and now Suzuki
want me to replace it with GLADYS? Gladys is my NANA'S name, FFS....

My lovely Bomber is going to have to last me forever, evidently. I'm not
riding a Gladys. NO NO NO! (What's bloody next? DOROTHY???)

The Bomber is about to have his 18,000km service, at the tender age of 6
months. I reckon I might get 3 or 4 years out of him at this rate if I treat
him nicely and don't break too many more gear shifters <snigger>. Here's
hoping Gladys has evolved into Xena by then!
