Bad news I'm afraid, since the Goulburn area still had strict fire
restrictions as of last week we definitely won't be having a bonfire.
Please leave your pyrotechnic devices at home, too.

We'll be able to have a campfire, but it'll have to be a careful one.
I should probably start work on the trophies soon, too...

invite the RFS and call it a "controlled burn" then we can still have
    a bonfire :D

What we need is a controlled burn to control the risk of an
uncontrolled burn, just like the one they did at Wilsons Prom last
year. Or an environmental burn to promote native plant growth (but chop
the gum trees down first, they burn better dry)

Perhaps a lightning strike a few days before to reduce the paddock......

  6. I promise not to let him bring it home with him!

Do you know if you have to split the cases to fit a new first gear in those
    little Honda motors?

I'd like to be able to answer that, but SOMEBODY still hasn't given
    back my CT70/90/110 service manual.

Let's just call him Gary W. - no, wait, that's too obvious: G.
    Woodman.

  8. Thanks Ash, that's what I thought. I've put that one on hold, gone to the
dark side, and bought him a bling cheap Chinese thingy. May the motorcycle
goD's have mercy on me! The more cases to split the merrier!

Oddly enough, the shop at Tarago has a 110cc Chinese "Cruiser" for
sale. It was registered, and when I had a close look at the motor it
looks like an almost exact clone of a postie bike motor (albeit with
    electric start and manual clutch).

Maybe I should buy it for the motor - the electric start would suit my
dad, he can't handle the kickstart on his CT90 any more. :-(

How much for a motor complete with electric starter & carby?

Heh! I was thinking more of an electric-start postie bike for Dad.
His health has really gone downhill the last couple of years (he's 74).

I gave the mechanics a call yesterday, the new Econovan motor has
arrived and they'll be doing the swap in the next day or two.
Hopefully this one will let me crack 8km/l, which would give me a
1200km range once I get the second (80 litre) gas tank fitted.
