Undercooling

P has this CB500 which she hardly ever rides - I dragged it out of the
shed the other day to get it MOT - It passed OK, but it was running
extremely hot, which was odd because these bikes generally are pretty
well cooled and I wasn't exactly caning it.

Now, AIUI the things that could be causing this are, dud themostat,
clogged radiator (it has taken a bashing at some point and I have had a
2nd hand one to replace it with for ages but not got around to it),
broken waterpump, or generally clogged system.

    I don't think it's the temperature sender/gauge - I remember it was
doing the same trick the other year when it boiled the system after a
prolonged period at 60 mph and then sitting in a queue of traffic: but I
thought that was just caused by the fact that the fuse for the fan had gone.

Have I missed something before I start pulling it apart?

    Ho yuss indeed.
Oh come on, that's hardly worthy material. It'd be as shocking as telling
me my mrs fancies George Clooney. Well, duh.

I like "Pe" as she's known here. She's better in Spanish language stuff
though. If you haven't watched "Volver", then you should. Brilliant film.
    You'll probably understand the Spanish.

If she's *that* good, I won't want or need to understand any dialogue!

it is, actually - nice return to form for Almodovar.

"Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown" is still my favourite,
    though.

I've only seen the sequel, directed by Guy Ritchie.

Yeugh. A sad old man's fantasy. I haven't hated a film so much for a long
    time.

(Also, the bimbo is studying Catalan culture, yet they don't even
acknowledge in the film that there's such a thing as a Catalan language.
The bloke speaks Spanish with his father, FFS.)

I seem to be in a minority on this though..

You could say the same about the little XR with 17 gears in Terminator
or the amazing morphing back tyre in MI2 or the numerous 4 stroke bikes
with 2 stroke soundtracks & vice versa. Doesn't stop me going 'FFS!'
    though.

There's a note stuck on a corkboard on my wall here, with "Mujeres al borde

of mine scribbled it in a bar saying I have to watch it. Might even make the
    effort now.

well, in English it's "Verge" not "Edge" as I quoted above. Fantastic
    film regardless.

I've seen it lots of times, yeah, it's a great movie. I'm also a fan of
Carmen Maura, but for different reasons.
heh, as so aptly demonstrated on echm, my Spanish is rubbish. Talking of
which, did you get my email?

As I recall, in the Spanish version, they do speak Catalan to each other.
    ICBW though.
