Today I had the great joy of leaving my workplace of the last 2 years
and 7 months. It really is quite satisfying to tell the regional
    director to 'go **** himself'.

My staff still didn't believe I was going up to the point I said
'goodbye, I'll probably not see you again'

Still, I got a bottle of Jamesons from my deputy manager (2)

    New job starts on Wednesday.

    (1) 4 days worth
    (2) Only half of it left now

A bloke I used to work with at Philips Computers did that when he left
    to join DEC.

A month later DEC bought Philips Computers.

Guess who he ended up working for[0]?

Enjoy the new job mate. Same field?

    [0] Albeit briefly...

  9. I've had two old and some what incompetent ex bosses of mine (from
different periods when I worked at Marconi) phone me up for jobs. With
no animosity involved I had to turn then down. Marconi may have been
able to absorb their incompetence but I was not prepared to do so.

Oh, I see. It's not something I normally do tbh, I just felt justified
in this case and it satisfied me for a short time.
