I would assume a constitutionally based challenge would thrash that idea
in court with a huge payout

Obviously, you haven't met our Jonz before. :)

Except for his illiteracy, though, I do agree with his general sentiments
    about these "convoys".

Maybe they have it as a download. Being on dial-up I don't get into that.. so
can't supply a link. Having said that...
Well on this crappy connection I came across this link:

    Interesting point really.
Let's consider that the law says you must not travel above the lowly arse
*****d speed limit and also it gives no minimum. Slow down has been hailed as
    being safe.
Most clubs will let slower riders lead so they don't get lost and then others
wonder where they **** they are.
Has anyone been booked for obstruction at a tad under the speed limit.. like
    some Camry drivers out there?
Anyone cutting up a group of bike riders is probably asking for trouble.

    Personal thoughts only.

But wouldn't a group of riders result in congestion of all lanes and we all know
from the road rules that all lanes can be used if traffic is congested. Speed
limits are set as a maximum, not a minimum. Until they set a minimum speed limit
for a freeway then a group of riders under the speed limit is Shirley well
within the law. Ashley.. do you remember 'slow down'.. 'wipe off 5'.

Most jurisdictions have rules that on a 2 lane road (usually one with
a high speed limit) you must keep to the left lane unless overtaking.

Whatever the law may be, common courtesy seems not to be applied by these
arseholes. They expect respect from non bikers, but themselves treat non
    bikers as shit.
At least the Camry drivers you mentioned in your previous post wont attack
you or your property en masse because you eventually are able to pass them.
As you wrote, "Anyone cutting up a group of bike riders is probably asking
    for trouble."
What gives them that right? No wonder the term "outlaw" is used to describe
    them.

Shirley anyone cutting them up would be termed "dickhead" :)

We are now watching the old classic, easy rider on telly. IIRC no-one was that
clean in the '70s except movie stars.
    I know I wasn't.

congestion??...bullshit al, this is a group of people with a common
purpose, no doubt going to a common destination....they are entitled to
travel at their chosen speed, sure. _but_ that part of the convoy
traveling in the rh lane should have slotted in behind (or in front) of
the others, so allowing other traffic to travel at _their_ preferred

I can't work out what part of the constitution would prevent it.

After all, it isn't about interstate commerce or freedom of religion.
