Got back from San Francisco on friday after a great fortnight. Didn't do as much biking as I'd have liked as the work part dragged on, but what I did was excellent. If you get the chance to go, once you're out of the cities and off the beaten track the roads are great. Quiet, challenging and for the most part well surfaced. A couple of exceptions to the last in the Marin area were the only downer. Riding in a cloud on a twisty, bumpy as f*ck road with added rockfalls trying to hang on to an ex racer on a TZR, while trying not to drop my mate's R1 was "challenging". However once we got out of the clouds the coast road was great and I could happily enjoy myself a bit more. Touring the city on the bike was a great way to get around and see the obligatory sights as well for half a day when the weather was a bit iffy. Two asides: Commuting on a sportsbike isn't so bad after all, I might change the Fazer this year for an R1/GSX-R. My mate took me to have a look around Google's campus which was interesting in a "aren't we clever and successful" way. I must admit they do seem to sort their employees out but I'm not sure I'd switch the work ethic and cost of living for a free canteen and a couple of fleeces :) Cheers
