No, you rode the Old Girl, the loopframe GT. A very similar bike to
the one this Classic is styled after.

The T is lower, lighter, and has disk brakes.

Actually, I do remember the V50. It was a sweet looking thing.

I kinda assumed that the V7 Classic probably would be, in real terms,
about the size/weight of a V50, but with more power and more modern bits.
Now, riding only a 500 leaves you at risk of your dick shriveling up and
    falling off.
(NB not you personally, of course!)

On the Guzzi stand at the bike show, I heard quite a few of the blokes,
    looking at the 750 models, remarking:"Yeah, a girl's bike!"

I saw lots of V35s. They looked good too.
Don't imagine they'd perform worth raving about... <shrug>

Back when I started riding, super heroes had 650s, and there were tales
told of 1000 Vincents existing someplace in the Scottish equivalent of
    the Dreamtime.

The first Munch Mamuth, with a 1200 cc motor caused a complete sensation!

BTW, rumour has it that the RZ engined Mito has now grown to 470 cc!

I expect it will be the size and weight of a 750 Breva. Which is
    bigger than a V50.

V50s were about 150-160kg compare to the Breva 180+, I can't find seat
hieght specs for the V50, but the ones I've sat on have all been lower
than the Nevada which is lower than the stock Breva.

Heh. No. 350cc in the V50 chassis. No rice pudding in danger from
    one of them.

Isn't that taking self regulation to the extreme?

ER6 comes in both N (naked) as well as the "weird" S (I like it btw but
    then we differ aesthetically...)

Other "standard" middleweights other than GS500 avail new

    Suzuki SV650 (the naked one)
    Suzuki GSF600 aka Bandit
    Suzuki GSR600

Cagiva Raptor 650 (and before you say it - get the naked not the V)

    Dcati Monster 695

    Hyosung 650 naked

Dunno if the Z750 counts ? too sporty ?

    Hornet 600
    Yamaha FZ6 (N - naked)

    Honda Dullville

Then of course there are the dual purpose bikes whuch seem to have taken
over this niche - DL650 Pegaso F650 etc etc
