Are these things not selling as well as Honda expected?
I went for a sit on one in the showroom on Sunday and the salesman
was offering to fit luggage , centre stand. tall screen , respray it
    any
    colour I want etc.
I'm off for a test ride this weekend but got a whiff of
    desperation.....

  2. Probably not.

Stratospheric price tag, silly small tank, gash looks, and innumerable
    alternatives for less money.

    Correctamundo!

The tank thing hammers it so badly.

    The fucking looks are shocking.

    Tripe.

It won't be for lack of effort on the part of "Bike"[1].
    VFR1200 £11,475
    ST1300 £12,900
    CBR1000RA £10,850
    GTR1400 £12,699
    FJR1300AS £15,499
    GL1800A £22,000

It's hardly way out of range with the competition.

    [1]And, it's quick round Milbrook's alpine circuit than a 5 y/o
    supersports of some description.

Competition? I thought that drove prices down...

Our local dealer has not sold any, main problem is no space in any of
the luggage, tank range fuel wise is terrible and the look of the tank
and side panels, needs something to break a big expanse of plastic.

    Goes well though.

Oh, and pricey, needs to be below £10k

FFS that would describe why I haven't seen one yet. That would buy a pretty
    decent cage.

The pound in your pocket today is worth **** all.

At least the sixties had Marianne Faithful. We now have Katie Price.

    What are soldiers for then?

A weak pound is apparently good for exports, so Govmint likes to say.

Unfortunately we are, by a significant margin, a net importer of goods and
    raw materials.

So it comes down to holidays, and it sucks. Cherist the GBP is even weak
    against the PHP

BTW note to Ace. It was too complicated to do separates
    (flights/transfers/accomodation) with a 10 y/o in tow so I'm doing a Neilson
hol to Le Menuires this Saturday. At 1850 and Val Thoren at 2350 the snow is
pretty sure for late season. I see some more is due and then good weather.

Harold Wilson, prime minister, devalued the pound in 1967. His "pound in
your pocket" speech is regarded as a classic of political double talk.
George Brown was probably the worst ever Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

He wasn't even the worst chancellor named Brown.

And George was a good chap.
When the ginger bitch was proposing the breathalyzer and the 70mph speed
    limit
he pointed out that he had driven home perfectly safely the previous evening
at 100mph after drinking a bottle of whisky. :)

Surely the default stance is that it must be bollocks. On the off-chance
that he's right, no-one will fault you for assuming the default.

In fairness, the GTR1400 is now 20% more expensive than when I bought
    mine 2 1/2 years ago.
