    hey guys,
I have a problem with engine vibration and was wondering if anyone could
    help me to reduce it...

problem is when at idle all is ok all the way up till 4100rpm than a really
bad vibration is heard and felt through the fairing and frame than it goes
away at about 5500rpm to the normal big bore engine vibes...???

i have tightened the frame bolts and all the fairing mounts. i have
syncronised the carbies. but i have not done the valve shims yet.

    anyone have any ideas please...

Thats what an fj will do at those revs.
You could get heavier bar ends to help reduce vibrations on your hands
but they are known to vibrate like that at those revs.
If it bothers you then change down.

Rumour has it that the engine settles on the rubber(?) engine mount points.
(Some mounting points are solid). I think new ones are hard to come by, but
I have heard some people simply remove the rubber mounts and reinstall them
upside down so that the compressed part is now on top (or bottom, whichever
    way it works).

This is not first hand information but may be worth trying.
