Is that just the rego, or does it include TPI?

    Theo
Still paying $300 in WA for the Guzzi, rego and TPI.

  2. I did hear that in Vic. on all toll roads, to change the camera from front
to rear, would cost too much, but haven't seen anything about that yet

in plain English, if you do it and the establishment want to ping you
for it they will, just under another name..

but what I was referring to is the general public, it seems to be
tolerated in Vic, I don't feel the same sort of tolerance in other
    states, YMMV

TPI... but we call it TAC..

but here is something Scary for us Victorians

there doesnt seem to be a difference according the Vicroads website
between a car or bike for rego, they are come under the guise of "
    Light Vehicle Registration"

    http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Motorcycles/Registration/LightVehicleRegistration.htm

    Light Vehicle Registration

A light vehicle is a car, motorcycle, motor trike or a truck that
weighs 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM) or less. All light vehicles
must be registered for use on the road.

This information is for registering vehicles that:

    * have never been registered before
    * had a registration that expired more than three months ago or
    was cancelled.

If your registration expired less than three months ago see: Renewing
    registration.
If your vehicle has been written off see: Written off vehicle
    registration.

    Motor vehicle registration (renewal)
The cost of motor vehicle registration renewal will vary depending on
the vehicle type and the postcode of the vehicle’s garaged address. To
calculate registration renewal fees for a light motor vehicle use the
VicRoads fee calculator. The following is an example only:

    and from
    http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Motorcycles/Registration/RegistrationFees.htm

Light motor vehicle - metro area
    Registration renewal fee: $593.80

there should be a difference, but I cant find it on the website, I
hope I can be proved wrong

OK... after about 2 hours of searching (sitting on my arse is a
Telstra Exch waiting for DSLAMs to reboot and come on line)

you have use this Vicroads pdf
    http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/257E3AF3-52E7-468E-94FE-4D37366C7B34/0/VicRegFees08.pdf

    Motor
Cycle Private* Use, Primary Producer or Police Department CS $35.60

    and this TAC pdf
    http://www.tac.vic.gov.au/upload/TAC_WebRates.pdf

    3. Motorcycles – (*See front page for further explanation)
    (a) Any general-use motorcycle, other than an exempt general-use
    motorcycle with
    (i) engine capacity less than 61 cc .....................
    (ii)
engine capacity greater than 60cc but less than
    126cc .......................................
    (iii)
engine capacity greater than 125 cc but less than
    501cc ...................................
    (iv)
    engine capacity greater than 500cc
    (b) Any exempt general-use motorcycle with
    (i) engine capacity greater than 125 cc but less than
    501cc ............................................
(ii) engine capacity greater than 500cc

FTG postcode is 3156 which is a High Risk Zone Postcode, so TAC
    charge $364.10

thats $399.70 (which includes GST and duties)

but according those calculation my rego should only be $474.50 which
is about the $50 +gst under my rego figure.

so thats makes it about $450, thats still $83 less than your quote
    figure...

    go figure

I was wrong... there is nothing in the HTML part of the vicroads about
MC rego prices, but is in a PDF on the site, then you have to goto PDF
on the TAC site and the the calculation yourself, bikes are over $100
cheaper to rego and all sizes of bikes are the same price as per
normal but the TAC part is different for different size of bikes.

nothing has changed except the amount of info on the PrickToads site

for a car, you can just use the online calculator on the Pricktoads
    site.

    Yeah; I'm severely-envious!
They're shutting down our three-suburbs-out site and moving us into the
centre of Brisbane (adjacent to the GPO) a month after the GP.
I'll go from free secure bike parking to $gawd-knows-what (and gawd knows
    where!) or train + walk...
This body's built for comfort not for distance!

Lucky you; my father was TPI too (from the Army). It was much better than
    just the normal pension.

    CTP up here.
We pay not-much-less than TAC (for dual-seat) but it's a much worse deal
'cause the rider has no cover.
Single-seat CTP (where no-one on the bike is covered) is cheap though.

Roma St car park is something like $2 a day

    JL
(at least I think I've got the location and price right - it was
something ridiculously cheap and relatively central anyway)

Thanks but Roma St is where I WAS two moves ago but it's the
diagonal-opposite of where I am heading this time. (Nth-West vs Sth-East).
961 metres according to the web.
