    Hi there,

I always thought that visors had to have a kitemark for UK road use? Just my
new Shoei XR900 does not have one on the clear visor and says E6. Is this a
new standard? I also bought a visor I was told was road legal it is called
"M Smoke" and also has the E6 mark. can anyone tell me if the E^ has
    replaced our kietmark?

    Thanks
    Steve

Yes, kitemarks have been replaced by the CE logo - hence adverts saying
    "jacket with CE approved armour".

Helmets have ECE2205 and visors the E6 marks

You can still buy the BSI helmets.BSI 6658 - 1985 blue or green
kitemark. Blue is Type A and Green is type B. Type "B" are made from
Polycarbonates while type A are made from Glass fibre and better.
Visors need to be BS4410 Type X, Y or Z refering to the impact
strength "Z" is best. However the EC markings have replaced the BSI
    kitemark:

The "(E1)" type number refers to the country they were made, 3 for
example is Italy. The numbers you must look out for are the ECE R
22-05. The same number applies to the Visor.

Where did you get it? No-one seems to have any stock left. I'm after
another one in 2xl as its the only helmet that fits my freakishly
    formed noggin.
