Visors and rain

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Wicked Uncle Nigel, Jan 11, 2008.

  1. Wuss. It seems your thinking speed is about the same as your road
speed. Ride faster and all the rain will blow away. Have you tried the
old fashioned way of turning your head slightly to WUN side?

    Always did on my cars.
Sounds like plan, although they are noisy and heavy IME, but you
    already are aware of that.

I have ridden this thing at speeds that would make you stop wetting
yourself, aged one. It makes no difference. Nor does the head-turning
    thing. Odd, it is.

  4. Sounds like. TBH I would be inclined to polish the shit out of the
visor before resorting to chemicals but apart from speed that is your
    only real solution.

RainX is good as long as you don't mind re-doing it a couple of times
a month or it seems to get smeary. Or just cut a potato in half an
wipe that over it, the starch has a very similar effect and this is
supposed to work for misting on the inside too.

Have you removed the polythene protection?

Yep, it's been bad these last few days. I reckon it's salt residue.
Horrible stuff that just smears if one tries to wipe it away.

Today was great: clean roads, clear visor, and apparently improved
    grip.
