Hey, why is it that goollies in the scuba mask work for good vision, but
they don't on the skid lid?

    "goollies"?

If you mean the lenses, as in prescription ground lenses for diving
    masks, it's a good question.

I assume that you can also get prescription ground lenses for goggles,
but the visor business is too far away from the eyes, and also too
complex a curve to have any correctiveness built in.

The visors also have to comply with an Australian Standard, so "custom"
ones would probably be illegal, if not immoral, and, very likely,
    fattening,too.

  3. I think the OP was referring to spitting into the scuba mask before
dropping below the surface to stop the the mask fogging. I may be
    wrong though.

If not. you can get scuba masks with prescrition lenses but a
motorbike's visor would be too far away from your eyes for the lenses
to correct properly Apart from the fact that when you take your helmet
off you can't see a bloody thing. I've been diving for as long as I've
been riding and just wear my contact lenses underwater. Even back in
the days before disposables where a set of lenses would cost $300
which was quite a sizeable amount in the early 80s. Never lost one,
and at least when I surfaced I could triangulate my position or even
see the dive boat (my vision impairment is -7.5 diopters which is
fairly severe). I even did all my PADI Instructors training where you
have to flood your mask under difficult conditions and then refit and
cldear the mask underwater without losing a lens.

    Probably because you're not underwater.

Which reminds me, I see, from the TV guide for this week, that Billy
Connelly has done another fucking travelogue, and the photo shows him
sitting on a "proper", as in two-wheeled, motorcycle.

I wonder if he has learnt to ride it, or just sat on it for the picture?

Can't say I ever tried, but cracking the visor open a bit helps, which you
probably can't really say for the scuba mask.

Maybe the visor gets colder than a scuba mask.
