    Gidday,

I'm thinking of buying a VTR250 or another ZZR250 ( have owned one before ).
My questions for the VTR250 are:

Is there room under the seat for a set of wets?
What sort of commuting range would I expect on the 13 ltr tank?
Only 5 speed, What is this like at 110km speeds on the freeway?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Depends on how thick they are. Unless you took the tools out, no.
    280-320 kays. Using Optimax.
At an indicated 110, it goes fine. I usually sit on 125 (which is about 118
    on my old one).

If you ride into head winds, your fuel consumption will go up.

Highway economy at 110-120 is 260-290. YMMV
    Help? Fugg off.

  3. i once got over 500k's doing 80k learner limit till i hit reserve...
normal id fill up at 300 touring, and 200 sporting..

under the seat, small wets maybe, not really much room.

the v2 dont need a 6th really, it wind out at about 170 and sitting on 110
    is no problems...

sold mine so ya cant have it

    cheers

  4. The Spada has the same engine, but with a 6 speed box...

I rode a friends VTR250 a bit, it has a _slightly_ higher first gear, so
it was a little less zippy off the line, but top gear was almost exactly
the same - the 5 ratios were just a little further apart. My Spada will
theoretically hit redline at 174kmh in top gear - it _almost_ gets there
too, the GPS recorded a max speed of 171kmh on it once (errr, on a
private race track, right? Not that long downhill stretch between
Jindabyne and Cooma on a clear quite day with a tail wind, OK? ;-)

Top gear at freeway speed (120) is just under 10,000rpm (just under 9k
at 110), which sounds high but since it doesn't redline till 14,000, its
still a fair way off damaging itself... It _will_ cruise happily for an
hours at 140-ish kmh, but it _really_ guzzles the fuel at that speed, so
you end up stopping to re fuel every 80 or 90 mins (which amuses the VFR
    and ZZR11 riders you're riding with ;-)

  5. I thought the spada's had 5 speeds? atleast the one i rest rode i thought
had 5 gears, i probably should haev counted them...

i think i only saw 160 on the speedo on private race tracks, but no tacho so
i cant say what it was doing.. maybe thats a good thing..

well 500k's at 80kph, and 2-300 at 110, its a big difference, the throttle
was more of an on off sorta one with the vtr as well.. i recon fairing would
have made a huge differenceon it, as at 160 your just struggling to push the
    air..

and ive chucked 50kg or so of luggage on mine and ridden for 2000k's with
out any drama's on mine, great for touring...

well honestly the choice is a naked honda v2 or a parrel faired bike... what
    do you like riding...

    cheers

    Gidday you old baaaaaastard,
Nice one - actually I have seen you and Rach out in the wet... very
impressive, esp. when 'someone' we know wouldn't come out to play...
With your expert and delicate throttle modulation I wouldn't be surprised if
    the bike actually produced fuel.
110??? Come for a spin on the XX big boy and I'll show you what 110 feels
    like... mwwwhhhahaha (and 220, and....)
I'm always here for ya matey. :)

    Cheers,
    (Cruel) Davey ZZR600 => ST2 (stolen) => '03 XX
P.S. Happy New Year to you guys - a spin on Sat morning????

  7. Really depends on the wets. Empty, it's approximately 7"x6"x3".

On a full tank, I get about 270kmhish before hitting reserve. That's a
combination of travel on the M1 and regular traffic travel.

It gets to 100 comfortably (the max I go). 110 isn't a real issue.
It's only after about 120 does it start to get whiny. Not that I would
know, going that fast on a public road is illegal, and I would never
    do such a thing.

    Hope this helps.
