First time I ever saw upside down forks that didn't have stacked shim
    damper cartridges,

    What a joke...

    Remove the #11 CAP

Compress the spring with some sort of forked tool.

Unscrew #9 NUT with some sort of thin spanner.

You may have problems with the upside down damper rods turning when
you try to loosen the caps.

An air impact wrench may be indicated...

Apparently the $crewzuki engineers never planned for anybody to ever
    replace the fork springs.

That's why the springs aren't shown on the drawing...

The ends of the steel stanchion tubes and the aluminum caliper
brackets are probably threaded and screwed in place with Loctite to
    keep them from loosening.

I suppose you could heat the brackets in an oven to melt the Loctite
so you could unscrew the brackets without burning the paint off...

But that could result in a bucket of worms when you go to reassemble
    the parts.

If you don't get every trace of Loctite off the threads, it's like
cross threading when you screw the brackets back on. It takes *heat*
    to melt the plastic Loctite.

Progre$$ive $uspen$ion seems to have a *generic* fork spring that fits
    many *other* motorcycles.

The generic Progre$$ive documentation probably wouldn't be a lot of
    help.
