I am at work right now. I didnt bring the pistol to work with me. It
is a company policy that you cant carry guns on the property. They
have hired alot of colored folks here lately and they are all about
equal rights and shit so if we carry guns then they will want to also.
That wouldnt be fair to only let the honkies be packin heat you
know...Ill be here till about 6am.

Big Ed has a new Yamaha RSV. Today I think I got to see it, so I call'em up
and he sez meet him in Dallas at Preston rd and 635 at Dennys. I get to the
target intersection but I ain't seeing no Dennys. I call him up on my new
phone w/bluetooth in the ear, under the helmet. Shit he sez, you already
there, I haven't left the house yet. I'm here but there isn't a Dennys, I
told him. Well, Big Ed sez, where you at, you can't be where I told you
because there is a Dennys there. No there isn't, yes there is, went on for 3
rounds, and Big Ed, rather than admit he doesn't know Dallas, changes
location on me to Plano rd and 635.
I pull out onto Preston and proceed up to the light at 635. Just as I stop,
BAM, hit in the ass. It knocked me 2 or 3 ft but having just stopped I was
in good shape to be bumped rather strongly. It didn't derail me, and I had
allowed ample room from the car ahead of me, but the picture of busted up
saddlebags, fender, and trunk flashed by me. Before kickstanding and
dismount I glanced behind me to get an idea of the attitude I would engage
in the upcoming interaction. What I saw was a '81 or '82 Camry with a front
clip that the color didn't match the rest of the car occupied by two, a
hispanic and herspanic. I think they were in panic trying to decide who
should drive after the fact, as they were switching seats. I have ample
attitudes to choose from, but was restricted to facial expressions only as
the his and her no speak no even 1 word of my language. The damage was
light, cracked rear lens, and knocked the left saddlebag wompajawed. I
called the police and made motions for the current driver, his, to pull the
vehicle in the Texaco parking right next to where the incident occurred.
We didn't have much to say to each other as we waited for the police. At one
point His laid down beside my bike and started rubbing on it like he was
checking the damage. I made 'get the hell away from my motorcycle gestures'
wild ones actually. After a few minutes his spotted a lady customer who was
also a panic at the Texaco gassing up and went over to her, the one gassing.
Together they came over to me and she spoke a little english and was going
to translate. She said his had no insurance but could fix my motorcycle.
Sorry I told her. She told him sorry and returned to her car to proceed with
the fueling. Around that time the cop showed up and I told him the story. He
asked who was driving and I told him her. Where is she he asked. Shit she
was just right over there by the car. Big Ed, who I had advised of the
situation, had showed up and asked who is that lady in that car ( the car
that had been fueling up). I glanced at that car and noticed there were two
people in it, and you guessed it, the driver of the Camry at the time of
impact had talked the bystander into taking her the hell outa there. Traffic
was too heavy for them to get out on the road and the cop got the her out.
Cop said he would fill out a report and was going to impound the uninsured
car. On one hand I feel bad about the impound but all damages incurred in
this incident have to be covered by me, they're turnips and from them you
can't squeeze blood. My costs are a few dollars, but could have been worse.
The next incident these uninsured are involved in could be worse.
All this took up riding time, I kissed Big Ed goodbye and we'll try it again
tomorrow. I got my ass back to cowtown.
I would have to point out the damage it was so light. The way the saddlebags
are mounted on the Voyager is it just sits down into rubber grommets with a
keeper pin at the top to keep it from bouncing out. When her hit it there
was enough give in the mounting system to allow it to pop out of the
grommets. If it had been a rigid mount like on my Valkyrie the bag would
have been busted up. Lucky I am always.

Glad you werent hurt. I am sure Big Ed would of missed those kisses.
To bad they dont auction off there car and pay you the money for your
damages. I guess if they did that, they wouldnt have any way to
transport there familys across the border.

Car insurance is not mandatory in Texas? That must keep the courts
busy sorting out all the unsettled traffic accidents.

It is mandatory...Its the law.. You cant get tags or inspection
without it. We are required to carry a minimum of Liability only.
Theres a bunch out there that dont have any insurance. They are part
of the reason our rates are so high.

What some cities are starting to do is impound the vehicles when it is
discovered the owner doesn't carry liability insurance. In the past if the
driver wasn't insured a citation was issued for no proof of insurance.
In Dallas they do not tow in the case of routine traffic stops. However if
there is an accident where no proof of insurance is presented the vehicle
    will be towed.
The requirements, driver's license, and liability, like many other laws are
only effective to people who have something to lose.

Sure glad to hear that Voyager wasn't damaged worse and that you weren't
hurt.. Damn.. Reminds of getting rear ended on my old Goldwing.. wound up
costing almost a grand to replace all the plastic and chrome.. Did all the
    work
myself, so there wasn't any labor involved.. The estimate was something like
$2,700.00 total.. The guy that hit me paid for all the parts out of his
    pocket, in-
stead of filing an insurance claim.. Worked out pretty good for both of us,
    but
it isn't a good idea in many cases..

That "impound" thing would sure be a better plan, if the vehicle would be
    sold
to alleviate the costs to the injured party.. From what I understand.. the
    proceeds
from such sales only contribute to the general fund of the city.. That
    sucks..

I doubt there is much profit in the sale of most of these impounded
vehicles. If the vehicle is worth anything the owner will get insurance and
get the vehicle out. The ones left, like the one that hit me, aren't worth
enough to break even when you figure wrecker fee, Cops labor hrs, lot fees,
administration fees, auctioneer, etc... you're in the hole. Like I said the
laws aren't effective against people with nothing to lose. The benefit is
that vehicle is off the street.

There might had been an agreement if Louie was nicer and considered their
situation.I guess it goes back to Louie not taking the proper language
courses in school. That should be manditory.Education is the correct way to
stop all of this stuff. We Americans should be required to be bi-lingual.And
spell better also.I said my peace.

Louie, I too, am sorry for your bad luck of having your new (to You)
motorcycle getting hammered a bit in the back.

But, your best luck was it didnt knock you off to the ground, and you
    get hurt.

But I gotta say your essay was humorous.

I laffedOutLoud, in my web room all by me self, about your description
of the two possible illegals in the vehicle:
How you called them 'Hispanic and 'Herspanic.

-And all through the fairly comical essay, you refereed to them as 'His
    and 'Her, (spanics.)

That was very funny, about 'Her' trying to get away in that vehicle
driven by another 'Her', who was gassing up. But the good ole traffic
kept them from pulling out and 'Her being able to escape!

I guess 'Her' didnt care that 'His' was by himself, getting the third
    degree by the Po-Lice.

Again, I am glad you and the Voyager, weren't hurt.

    I hope you thanked ''goodness''.
