Know it well. My mother comes from that area. I'd call it a one horse
town but I think the horse died some time ago.

 

I think I've only stopped there once, having lunch in the Red Lion when
travelling back from Snowdonia. Been through there loads of times as the
B4518 from Rhayader to Pandy, via Llanidloes & Llyn Clwyedog was a
favourite alternative to the heavily policed A470. Rarely go further north
than the A44 nowadays, though.

 

We're staying at the Red Lion. In there now in fact. Is the food any
good?

 

Is that a "'Cos I'm about to eat and if you say it's shit I'm off to
the Chinese" ... or ... "'Cos I've just eaten and there's rumblings, so
should I cut out the middle man and just stick my fingers down my
throat now" sort of question?

 

It was fine, although some time ago.

I took the B4518 to get there. In the car. Hilarious! Absolutely bloody
hilarious!

 

The beer went down alright too.

 

As I was bombing along it in the car I thought it'd be great on the
ktm but pretty wearing on a sports bike. Which is why I tried to get
you to take that route for our entertainment.

 

Sir needed the parallel road ca 6 miles to the East, 14 miles to get to
the start, but worth the effort.

I had a whale of a time in the Leon from Gloucester onward. Hope they
don't have helicopters.
