Tibia fractures restrict ankle mobility, I can't physically bend my
ankle onto the pedal. I've driven twice and I'm really not safe to be
driving, I had to make an appointment to brake. There's no way I could
put enough pressure on to do an emergency stop.

Fair enough. Thinking about it, I guess most people drive with ankle
movement rather than knee movement, although I think I'm something of
an exception i.e. when i push the clutch pedal, I move my whole leg,
rather than just my ankle. I guess it could have something to do with
the car too - mine doesn't need much pressure on the brake pedal in
order to stand on its nose.

I do that. I'm guessing most people do, as the clutch pedal generally
has quite a lot of travel.

Brake and throttle are mostly ankle movement, though.

Definitely a case for a twist & go scoot then - nothing for the feet
to do [1]. Just be warned that the first time you ride you will
instinctively try to pull the clutch in and slap the back brake on HARD.

Thats bollocks.

I got onto my scoot the 1st time and didnt do anything of the sort. As
there is no gear shift, why would you try and clutch in?

I bought a Vespa ET4 recently and am having fun on it.
Very twitchy compared to my Hornet , and with 10hp it's very slow too
but it still manages to be entertaining and is a doddle to ride
Being a metal bodied scooter it's not particularly light compared to
something like a Peugeot speedfight but that actually helps to keep the
centre of gravity down.
Something like that could be worth a look and at the cheaper end of the
market they don't seem to depreciate at all unless crashed.

Its a good laugh - so much so, Im now looking at getting a classic
scoot, such as a Lambretta or the like, but good ones tend to go for
silly money!

At times, but I'm with him on this one. When I ran that SH50 last year,
more than once I found myself grabbing the back brake lever while
instinctively going for the clutch.

of my freedom back, which would stop me from completely losing the
plot.

Is this a good idea? Has anyone had one? What are they like? Would it
still be too heavy?
