Anyone got a yamaha virago XV 750's tank laying about they no longer need??

i'm after one to put on my 535, want bigger fuel capacity, but don't want to
    spend too much doing it,
i know the tanks are different, but it seems to be the top mounts... push in
rubbers as opposed to bolt through ones, that's an easy enough fix, bottom
mount seems to be the same (mine's a bolt through a big hole in the tab at
the middle rear of the tank)

I know the fuel take off is different too... but again that's not a problem,
bit of blue tack and duck tape will sort that out,

i'll be re-srpaying it anyway, so a tank with a few dents in it would be
    fine,

i'm after the cruiser type tank, teardrop stype i think they're called,
when i last asked for one i was told the tank of an early xv950 would drop
straight on, pipework and all, prolly will, but that bike has a totaly
different tank shape, due to it being more a commuter style bike trather
    than a cruiser style.

I'm in Grantham, lincs, but can travel for the right tank.

OR, anyone got one of those highway hawk 9 litre mustang tanks for the xv
    535 they don't need anymore??
thye are for the dummy tank model, but again, i can sort that, just don't
want to spend 80 quid for a new tank in-case i feck it up.

  2. As there is more than one model of XV750, they're more different than
    you appreciate.

I got one where very nice looking V shaped one, I was going to use it
on a chop. I'll go down and did it out and get a pic of it for you, no
cap or tap though. If it's still OK I'll post back here

oh aye, know there's about 5 different types at least, found that out when i
was after a simple bolt on solution,
but the 535 has a 2 tank set up, and the top tank has a large bore stub in
the middle bottom for the main fuel flow pipe to the bottom tank, and a
slightly smaller 90 degree stub where the petcock would normaly be on any
other tank, that is the breather i assume, so must have a pipe inside the
    tank to the top.

Seems only the 535 had the 2 tank set up, (early ones had a single tank
under the seat) the 750's and larger all had a single tank... afaik,

i'm prepared to do a bit of drilling, cutting and welding on the tank to get
it to have the fuel outlets the stock 535 tank has, hence i'm after a cheap
    tank, in-case i fubar it,

I know one type of 750 tank has a clip fitting for the rear holding tab..
    under the seat front,
the later ones have a bolt fitting i believe.. that's the type i need,

I also know the top mounts are different, but as the 535 has exposed top
mounts, and the other tanks sit a little lower and thus hide the top mounts,
that's something i'll have to make up as i go along.

I'd really like to go for a harley style fat tank, but the need for a wide
tunnel is the main problem, with the 535 having the air filter in the top
    frame tube.

i'd go for a 1100's tank too, i want as much fuel capacity in the top tank
as i can get, but without going too large for the bike, and having the
    handlebars hit on full lock.
