interactive globe created from a variety of satellite images. US is
fine detail. Rest of world a bit blurry. Can make out most roads, many
    buildings.

There's a cover-DVD on one of the current PC rags which has over a gig of
this stuff. Save the bandwidth! :)

Nah, every dollar of funding the US Govt spend paying for the bandwidth is a
dollar they can't spend killing Iraqis. Download it twice.

Nice interface, but the Russian satellite images of Australian cities which
terraserver.com was serving up online in the mid 90's showed better detail
than these. There are online Australian maps available which show enough
detail to see individual cars on the streets.

    http://services.land.vic.gov.au/landchannel/content/interactivemap has online
maps you can search for by suburb, street name and number, melways reference,
    etc

That is true, but I suggest that the bandwidth costs are fixed (or nearly
so); I doubt that NASA pays per-byte to send stuff to us. [1]
Can I borrow your account? :p

[1] only Australians are stupid enough to lap up volume-charged accounts

True, but they have to budget for that sort of stuff, and when they budget for
next year WWW spending I'm sure they look at the amount of processor speed,
bandwidth they used this year and budget for upgrades based on a function of
that figure, so your actions will have some sort of flow on effect, even if it
    is immeasurable.

    I agree!!

We western nations are such blood thirsty parasites, executing by rifle,
beheading and burning to death people those who oppose us and our holy
christian ethos. Yep, we're arseholes allight. Look at what the American
crusaders did to these poor Nepalese and realise there are many more video
examples fom the site of American executions, take a look what the yanks did
    to Brigly.

Another child of the MTV world who thinks one whitey being killed on TV is
somehow infinitely more disgusting than 100 towelheads being slaughtered

I don't have a problem with soldiers and dissedents shooting at each other,
and whilst I don't like the idea of non combattents getting caught in the
cross fire I can understand how it might happen.

I have more of a problem with deliberately targetting non combattents, and
more so when those non combattents are aid workers attempting to actually
    help.

Or just people who happen to be living in the same street and who get
bombed. Or taken and tortured, perhaps killed, because someone said
they were maybe a collaborator or bad guy.

There are no clean hands in this idiocy. Not even any mostly clean
    hands.

See this is why there should be a Union for wars and other assorted physical

Not saying that is good zebee...
I actually agree, but my point was that I find particuarly depressing the
targetting of people who are activly attempting to help.
