"Washable" K&N Air Filter

    How exactly do you wash these, and what with.

    It's not the foam type, it appears to be made of the same stuff as a
    normal air filter.

    Petrol of paraffin, IIRC.
    Paper, you mean? Yeah, I'm fairly sure the last time I used these back
    in the '70s we'd just use petrol to clean them.

    I had thought about dunking it in petrol or paraffin, but wasn't too
    sure. The temptation would have been too great not to set fire to it
    to see if that was also part of the cleaning process.

  7. Petrol/paraffin fucks up the micro'oles. K&N sell a cleaning fluid,
    which is basically soapy water, but keep the 'oles open.
