  1. Probably a waste of my typing: But here goes! Could it be, that some one
    in here,
enjoys and keeps up with, the #1 Reality
    TV Show, ''Survivor''.......
<>I understand when I, or others ''post'' and get very few, next to no,
‘responses’.<>I scroll down thru the ''new post' and don't comment
on all. <>that's part of it!<>for example: I wuz surprised
that no responses happened on my ''post'' about the ''new Cowboy
stadium'', and my post about the ''Movie, Alamo''........I imagine, some
of you, wonder about a post you made, and get very few responses. (part
    of it)
<>Remember the main issue here is:
TV Show ''Survivor'' (just to remind ya)
    GOL (grin out loud)......

wwweeeellllll now.. Surprisingly... all us ol' well endowed cruiser riders
don't dwell on those kinds of programs, either.. <chuckle> My friend Bjay
may very well be the only one that I know, and that's because he's been
    puny, like me...

Now.. I'm getting better and the doctor (ugly bitch) is telling me that it
looks likte I am not gonna be kickin' any buckets soon.. Bjay is going to
get on his feet, soon .. so that means we'll both be out and about real
quick.. ridin' these ol' cruisers and offending the public as often as we
can, with these ol' loud pipes.. I know that Bjay, ain't got any chaps as
gaudy as mine and his doo rag isn't as impressive as mine, but we are gonna
    surround 'em..

hmmmm.. now..if I can just figure out the braid for my pony tail, I'm
ready... Let's get to it, Fullstate.. whoops.. you are headed for ice
country.. Ah well.. when you get back.. P.S.. please get a haircut, dammit..
All that hair of yours flying in your eyes is embarrassing me... Just
think.. you best friend Bling is embarrassed by that unkempt appearance,
    also..

The past month that I've been shut in, I've tried to watch all the crap on
TV... whew.. What a waste of time.. These folks have definitely run out of
TV programming, they don't have anything on, that interests me.. Hell.. I've
even gotten addicted to some of the cooking shows on PBS...

I'm with you .. Superfly.. The show that you are waiting for, I too.. just
    might give it a shot..

BTW.. good to see you on here, again.. Have a good one, pard..

I'd love to.. if this ugly bitch doctor of mine don't cut me loose today,
I'm outta here.. Hell.. if I gotta go, I'd rather do it my way, anyhow..
Let me know when you got the time.. we'll ride something, even if it's a
    pickup..

I watched one of the shows in the first Survivors. Never again.
Anything claiming to be about surviving that then has the participants
VOTING OUT those they don't like (or whom they think have a better
chance of surviving than they do) has nothing to do with "survival"
and everything to do with political back stabbing. Absolute waist of
    video tape IMO.

I'm with you on the reality TV schlock. But expect only worse as no
one wants to risk being creative and running head long into a rogue
FCC willing to fine them because a few, terminally sensitive types,
ran out of other things to cry about.

    1. Don't watch Survivor, but I know who Boston Rob is/was.

    2. It doesn't matter to me about Cowboy stadium, or where they move it. I
don't live in either Irving or Arlington, and I don't go to the stadium but
maybe once every couple of years.

    3. Didn't see the movie "Alamo". Sorry, couldn't comment there either.

I save up all my responses and when they reach critical mass I post.

Ouch, Bill! Dayum! I would be afraid some bald guys would hold me down and
*cut* that ponytail for uttering this. Hahaha!

Besides, Fullstate is just "streamlined" for added speed.

In a way. But when a network worries about investing money in
creativity with the inherent risk that the FCC will tromp all over it
because of a handful of complaints, they'll opt for the formuaic path
that has already made it past the sensors.

The CBS show, Survivor, is actually a game. Surviving mean, can one
last thru the 39 days on some fairly remote Island, with out being voted
off. That last one standing wins a million. You're right, politics,
personality, camping skills, physical skills, trickery, all these, &
more, are needed by one, to Survive. Thursday night, Chad was voted off,
    but he survived
about 20 days of the 39, and he wears
a prosthetic (lower leg)....and did well, on the "physical challenges''
that they have to endure. But, he did get the boot, the other night,
because there was only he and one more man left, the gals are in control
this season. It started out with
8 women and 8 men. But the gals have out done, and outlasted the men,
and now there's 5 women and one man, left. He'll probably go next week.
You see, Mark, it's more to it, than you thought...(smile)

I see happening. The reason why I think of that movie is because of one
    line that has stuck in my head since I first saw it;
'What ever appears on the television screen emerges as raw
experience for those that watch it. Therefore television is reality and
    reality is less than television'.
It's kind of a stretch but I see what is happening as people are
living their lives vicariously through these shows and not living their
    own lives.

  13. that's partly right, but going too far in the network expectations of
fear. the bean counters often make the call. the reality shows are so
cheap to produce compared to a dramatic series or or made for tv movie.
reality shows require very little from writers and editors, no
professional talent is needed, and production standards can be very low.
no need for shooting on film for a high quality image, canned music
drops fill in if they are needed at all and product placements are easy
enough to do to satisfy and bill the normal players and even some who
wouldn't be able to normally run commercials.

lowest cost, lowest common denominator production values rule broadcast
today, and it shows. the average soap opera spends more on an episode
than the reality shows. ed sullivan and the "shows of shows" would
never make it today. game shows are sliding backwards too as "who wants
to be a millionaire" had to be dumbed down and an extra lifeline added.

Well, I just thought we had a dialog going here , or a discussion,
about Reality TV shows. I just knew one of you 'learned'
guys, another view or bownse, would know atleast one of the answers to
my question about ''how long these types of
TV shows have been around''' I thought ya'll insenuated that it's
relatively new. So, if you're really that
‘‘uninterested.’’......you'll never know which of them are 50
years old... and still shown on PAX......cause you just simply do not
    give a crap.....no big deal!!!!

  16. if i'm going to watch tv, it's to be entertained. turning off the tv
restores reality. why turn on the tv to see something you already have
all around you, much less someone elses reality which is usually worse
    than what you have already.

pal of mine used to call the History channel the Hitler channel because
Adolph was on all the time. It is one of the best channels and it's
    about reality too.
