i doubt it would be much weight, esp if your using the bike as the power
source, just use a cigi lighter socket or something similar..

small pump, small res, you could have this as a bum bag that you can strap
    somewere else...

trick for the intercooler would be to find somewhere where air would get
    that isnt heat effected..

I think that things like "qualifications" , "talent" and "common sense" are
all overrated. All us aussies need is a "she'll be right attitude" and some
blu-tac to hold the homemade proton accelerator together.

I've tried the old bucket-of-water-over-the-head remedy but all of the water
evapourates before I leave the driveway. I've never had any problem
lane-splitting buses when they're stopped at the lights. Might as well
lane-split between two huge stationary buildings(except those new
    sport-buses, they're bloody deadly !)

The Fremen stillsuits process urine and sweat into drinking water using the
body's movement to provide the energy. Personally I can't see why you'd need
to purify it at all ...

You , Mad Biker , sound like an avid supporter of the water-cooled jacket
cause. Why can't other people see the light ?

Possible and most likely already done. Check the Aus and US patent sites.

Erm, don't those guys float around in low or zero gravity, therefore they
can pack a huge farken airconditioning system and battery packs?

    Your issues here are:
    (i) Amount of water you need to carry to make it effective, and the
volume you need to shift to make it work.
(ii) Moving water through the jacket. You have to bend your arms and
stuff, so you may block a tube when you bend it?
(iiI) Condensation inside the jacket -- not much point in being cool when
the humidity's giving you jungle rash. More of a problem when its a
    seaqled system.
(iv) What happens when the water reaches ambient temperature? Total
system failure, such as a broken pump or a leak, would probably be a worse
option than a summer air mesh jacket.

    Nar, never work. Squid it.

You have to find someone who makes them, or find out how you can make your
own if you want one. Nothing about selling them

Can you actually leave a bit of the other poster's conversation in your

Alternatively the poster can get one of those ice vests that the footy
    players use.
They stay frozen for hours and may be worn just inside the jacket but
over the tshirt etc to make it cool on a 40 degree day.

the V8 supersnores drivers use a vest that has cold water pumped though it,
so I'll say they are commercially available

Only if the design is a trademark (therefore a drawing, not a real
    object), and you register it.

A design (e.g. design of a water cooled leather jacket) would need to be
    patented.
