I used to ride with a guy who could out-corner pretty much everyone even
though he was running on knobblies. He was, however, completely insane.

    In communiqué
The vexed question of just what is a full on supermoto is still causing
the odd demarcation dispute in the NHCA road legal championship.

Fair enough. I must have been thinking of the 690SMR or 950SMR. Those
seem a step too far away from the essential concept to me. An SXV550 is
    nearer IMO.

OK, so you have a proper supermoto. So perhaps what you need to do is
ride it more like a motocrosser, not a sports bike ?

If it was Roy then he'd have been over-taking on a corner half-way up
an embankment on one wheel and reading a paperback book. Not known as
    "Mad Roy" for nothing.

    How'd you guess?

Sadly he's reverted back to a dirtbox monkey.

Why the interest in getting to the edge of the tyre anyway?

    Value for money.

I've you've paid for all that rubber, you might as well use as much of
    it as possible.

Nah, chicken strips on that are quite respectable.

Courtesy of the previous owner, natch.
