I took my Tuono for a 'tyre-scrubbing session'. Only about 20 miles, but if the theory of heat cycles is correct (which it seems to be), more than enough. The last tyre was a 190-section and of the last three sprots bikes I've owned, this was the only one where I couldn't scrub the rear tyre within a couple of mm of the edge - I had a good 10mm of virgin rubber on each side. The new tyre is a 180-section and to my surprise I had it within a gnat's bollock of the edge on the RHS - I was really expecting even wider strips of virgin rubber. The only thing I can think of is the fact that it's on a 6" rim and has spread a bit. It definitely feels... good. I shall have to see how it feels in the wet.
