Mate came round, just chewing the fat and chatting and he suggested we
'do a crossie' (Long story) and have a ride out to Cadwell, then the
coast and back home. Said it'd be hard as I don't have a roadbike
anymore, so he lent me one oh his .. He has two R1's, one's a trackday
bike, and a couple of CBR 600RR's, again one a trackbike, so I went on
    the CBR.

OK, not the fastest bike around or the nimblest, but the first bike
over 500cc I've been on for a while.

What a blast!! Beautiful day, not too much traffic other than in
Gainsbrough for road works, and loads of other bikes out. Great roads,
did it all in about 4 hours. Not hooning too much as I'm well rusty,
but still managed to scare mtself shitless at least once.

Great ride, just thought I'd mention it ... ;)

Jeez but I'm missing having a decent roadbike more and more ..

I'm hearing a few bikes going down the A27 at the moment, lucky bar
    stewards.

My wheels are still in bits, rebuilding the engine[1].. waiting on main
bearings / seals. Can't wait to go for a blast[2].

I'm hoping to pop along to OSM this year on it... if it gets that far. :)

[1] Piston, long stroke crank, mains, seals, lightened flywheel.
[2] For twist and go values of blast[3].
    [3] I can't do clutches.

  3. You can borrow mine whenever you like. It just sits on the patio while
I'm out burning up the olive groves on the pushbike.
