"Meanwhile, the partnership has revealed it achieved a surplus of £431,916
in the last financial year, with £2,853,240 in fixed penalty fines paid into
    the courts."
And they insist on telling us they don't have quota's for speeding fines?

Was also in a local paper to me that they are going to use them around
Aberystwyth, so thats probably all the decent roads in Mid Wales
    covered by them.

Perhaps oddly, I don't mind this sort of thing, provided they actually
use it as they say, i.e. park it at the side of the road with a
****-off flip-up camera sign displayed on the back of it.

It's a lot better than the old days when they used to just stand there
with a radar gun, often partially concealed and with no warning signs.

I read it as - the bike camera's to get into tight urban areas, to set
up a stationary camera, where it's impossible to park a van, mainly
due to parking restrictions etc. So it would be deployed *in*
Aberystwyth. I would imagine vans would (still) cover most of the
    roads outside of Aberystwyth.

And I notice it's a Deauville, it ain't going to be a pursuit vehicle.

My only real concern is learning likely sites. As you can see we are flooded
    with cameras up here

That, and the fact that it's "manned" by a civilian would sort of reinforce
    that opinion.

I can live with it too IF they site it where it's needed, but the ****'s
don't do that. Oh no, they site them just after the danger area where we
tend to speed up (those of us who slow down in vilages that is).

Scraggy? He'z just ziz guy, you know?
Am I wrong in wanting to accelerate and ram these mobile speed cam vans
that are parked up at the side of the road, nearly always in long
stretches of open roads where any loon could do 150mph and the only
thing they'd be a danger to is flies?
