Recently did new springs on an old Bultaco (75) clutch. The clutch
discs in this particular application are all metal, not half metal &
half fiber. The thing was slipping so the supplier told me to replace
the springs & fill it with ATF as opposed to the 30w oil recommended by
the manufacturer. This did a nice job & haven't had a problem since. My
question here is can the same fluid be used in a 69 triumph wet clutch
with fiber plates?? Doing one for a friend & if this will be an
improvement in performance over the required 5-30 oil I want to set him
up like that. Thanks in advance.

Make sure the Triumph doesn't have the breather coming off the case by the
primary. They changed in '69 or '70 and vented the engine thru the primary,
as well as them sharing oil. The safest way to tell if it shares oil is to
pull the primary cover and see if there are 3 small holes about 1/16"
diameter drilled thru into the crankcase.

Thanks for the input. It appears I have the situation where the oils
the same in both cases. Oh well.
