Weather v.cold but dry. Perfect for a thrash. Took no1 son down to
Chippenham for his CBT. A respectable and rather loud 146mph (indicated) on
the way back. Not bad for a 1984 FJ1100. Lunch with SO, no2 son and daughter
at the local. Bishop's Tipple. mmmm.
No1 son calls to say he's passed CBT and done 3hrs riding on the road for
    the first time. Result.
Weather still superb so off down the canal towpath with daughter and 'dags'
to another cracking pub. Ice on the canal, herons trying to fish, narrowboat
owners looking fucking cold. A few more down there and a lovely walk back
home to the smell of a casserole in the oven.
    Shiraz opened. Consumed.
It surely doesn't get much better than this.
Looking at the forecast for tomorow, I'd say a repeat of today is on the
    cards. Thrash/pub lunch/dog walk& pub/dinner.
    I love lviing down here.

  4. Sussex was glorious today. Went for a lovely open-top drive in the Eos
this afternoon, after tinkering with our Berkeley T60. Properly
    lovely.

I invented the 'green screen rule' round here.
10 IF: >50% of any TV picture = green, but does not contain wierd shaped
    ball, THEN change channel
    20 GOTO 10

This works well for Tennis, cricket, snooker, football etc..

Not as lovely as Wednesday was. The lad had his first proper thrash
round a MX practice track on the YZ85. After hours of cleaning off dried
clay/sand with the consistency of concrete we are all set for another go
tomorrow, but I will be putting thermals on.

<note to self - must investigate petrol engine powered jet washer>

Liverpool lost to Barnsley (who. the. ****. are. Barnsley). Adie doesn't
support Liverpool, she likes the other lot.

At this point I mention I have never seen 90 minutes of football, live,
    televised or otherwise.

I only take note of certain scorelines to mention to specially selected
    colleagues and managers.

There's a few new ones here:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/dan_l/2271077438/

Bike is pretty much ready now, once the decals arrive the new arse end,
hard pillion cover and side panels will be shipped to Beav, and the
subframe will be shot blasted and powder coated.

A new HRC radiator expansion bottle and rear brake reservoir have been
fitted this week as the originals don't fit under the Mito rear end.

It should look bloody good once it's all painted, the Mito rear end is
a more updated look than the older boxy style VFR.

Have you started on the TS50's yet?

That's the next project. I need to finish the SV[1] and get that
shitheap of a ZXR750 out of the way, then ebay the remains of my Gixer
750L and a huge pile of old spares I've got stacked against the back
wall. Once they've gone I'll have room to work on the TS50s at the back
of the garage. My CBR600 is all finished and ready to go play on track

[1] Just waiting on the insurance cheque so I can buy a complete new
    fairing, then it's all done.

Over to Platy's for a go on his VFR. Up the M5 to the Gloucester exit:
`why does the wind push me so much harder than on a Pan?' Off M5 to head
for A46: `so that's the point of one of these bikes.'

Back to Platy's, thank Platy muchly for pleasant new experience, and
back to Bath on Pan, via Avebury. Pan runs much better with full tyres
and full sump [1] and a rider who has just had a go on a VFR. Passed a
VFR800, which should be slightly worrying for the VFR rider. Had a
sandwich at the Red Lion and went back up the A4 to Bath.

[1] After service on Friday, nice man in shop said `do you have an issue
with oil, only there were only two litres in it and it looked loike
    gnaaaat's piss'.
