What Are We All Riding These Days?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Andrew McKenna, Aug 31, 2010.

  1. I think JL did the last one of these a few years ago. What are we riding
these days (just the current ride, and just the major one if you have
    several)?

  3. 02 VFR800 at the moment. Blue. After 12 or so bikes in 3 years I think I have
finally found the bike for me.

Maroon BMW R850R, bog stock standard.

Blue, and yellow, Honda Z50, _very_ fiddled with, and due to be eligible
    for hysterical plates,too! :)

    Still on my K8 SV650S. It's a bit battle-scarred (betty-scarred?), and I've
lost count of the number of levers its gone through, but I love it...
    Definitely time for a new bike though - I think I'll get....ummmmmm -
another SV. Will swap all the shortarse bits from my current bike onto the
new bike, and I already have a new set of heated grips waiting (CMC had a
    sale and I couldn't resist...)

Well I still need a Guzzi I do.

So I ride one. A 1200 Norge, which I still love heaps and is running
    beautifully.

I split my time pretty evenly between that and the Mighty Scooter,
commute on the scooter mostly and weekends on the Norge.

Since Close MOtorcycles had a go at the scooter it's a new machine.
Doesn't hesitate off idle any more, all those two stroke horses cut in
pretty quickly and it's up to 60kmh while hte car I have split up next
to is still in first gear and hasn't made it across the intersection.

A ridiculous loud and lairy hooligan tool that pisses off GSXR riders,
    what's not to like?

Thanks, I thought it was going OK till I foud out my hip hadn't healed at
all and the screw that was holding it together broke. Three months and a
hip replacement later, along with an unexpected fracture of the femur when
the operation went awry has left me with even more limited movement. About
the only positive thing I can say is that it now appears that pretty much
all that could have gone wrong has so things are looking up. I'll ride a
bike at least once more, even if it's only around the car park to prove that
I can. I'm not letting the ignorant git that did this to me win.
