What do you make of these?

  1. HG TFL Cool stuff

They may not be very stylish but what I like is (a) the number of
pockets (my current leathers are useless in that regard), (b) linings
for cold weather, (c) TFL for warm weather - if it works - and (d) you
can wear the trousers over boots.

    Anybody actually tried these?

As an aside, HG are currently doing the Classic range with a buy
jacket and get free trews offer. I rang and asked if they'd let me
have the other stuff on the same terms and, effectively, they told me
    to bugger off.

based on anecdotal reports here and elsewhere, I wouldn't spend £400 on a 2
piece suit from HG. I've put them in the same category as Frank Thomas i.e.
avoid as their quality control is hit & miss.

I prefer to wear my leathers outside my boots. Fat calf muscles make
wearing them inside uncomfortable. After a bit of searching I found a pair
of Akito leather jeans. These cost £80 and came with CE approved pads.
Spend another £20 on a decent base layer such as EDZ and you have something
that is warm in winter and wicks away sweat in summer.

  3. Basically, I was trying to get them for £220 but it wasn't happening.
I'm skinny everywhere except the gut (imagine a pregnant worm) but if
it does rain I like it to run down outside my boots. Also, they look a
bit more like normal clothes and wouldn't look out of place walking
around a town while touring. I felt a bit of a freak walking round
Cochem in more race stylee leathers. Actually, that may be nowt to do
    with the leathers.
Interesting, I seem to remember you saying that you were a freakish
shape so if you found something off the peg then there's hope for me.
What are they like for leg lengths - oh and pockets?

  4. What was the problem? Just point me to a link if you've already
    documented it here.
As it happens, I think they have an offer on AN stuff at the mo.

Well, I've been using HG stuff for (almost) daily commuting all year
around for the last four or so years. I've no real complaints about
quality. The last time I bought a jacket was about 6 months ago.

I've been buying HG gear for years and, well, years ago the quality was
rather good for the money. Spent a few hundred with them last year for
some waterproof boots and gloves. I think the boots staid waterproof for
something like six months. They're still mostly waterproof but that's
not good enough so I guess I'll be seeing Graham at GLF fairly soon.

    :

Two pockets, with zips. Big enough for a wallet.

Leg length: I have a 32" inside leg and they fit fine. I've no idea if they
come in other lengths. I went into a shop in Lydney, asked to see what
trousers he had in my size and he returned with a couple of pairs. The
first pair I tried were too tight on the calf, the Akitos fitted fine.

Are they the ones you snagged your dick in? If not, I rather think a
    re-think is necessary.
