What happened (long)

  1. Especially as it isn't a 'dim' point at all. Under most other leaders
    we wouldn't be in Iraq.
Who - Iraq? Afganistan? What *are* you smoking?
But true. The Kurds want an independent Kurdistan, the Sunnis want to
rule as do the Shi'ites - largely so that they can wipe out the others.

I guy I once knew had a similar experience:
He took loads of acid with a burd.
At the end of the evening he had the answer - he totally understood how
women's minds work. Problem was that he died laughing before he could
    tell anyone...

So how does anyone know he had the answer?

But at 2000ft you have plenty of time to recover the flight or parachute
out. At 100 you're dead. In jump planes it's always good to get over
300ft, the minimum altitude you might get out and open the 'chute and
survive. I always like the "door seat".

Utter fucking bollocks. You think Ms Thatcher wouldn't have had us in?
Radical Muslims and those who supplied and supported them. **** them
    all.
Isn't it a lovely pipe dream! take a look around at attempts to
Partition nations and tell me whether it's a good idea or not.
It's a civil war. They always kill millions. So sad too bad. Partition
    results in the same.

You might actually be completely unelectable, given what an old labour
leader would want. UK needs a social hard line right winger but with
    ubber business sense/savvy.

Well opiates never seemed particularly addictive. Smack is far less so
than the Media make out, but you probably know that.

  8. What is this 'parachute' you speak of? It was a squeeze fitting
me+instructor in the microlight let alone a parachute!

I mean - you are probably dead both ways but at least if you are only
100ft up you have less time to contemplate your fate.

  9. I don't know. I don't generally play the 'what if' card. But consider
this - we didn't take part in any of the many US 'adventures' under her
    rule^Wreign^Wtime in power.
And where were those in Iraq? Hiding with the WMDs perchance? Sure -
they attacked on of the US 'allies' (since there was no mutual defence
treaties as far as I can tell) but that was 15 years ago.
I didn't say whether it was a good idea or not - I think an independant
Kurdistan would make sense but you would never get Iran & Turkey to
agree with the loss of their territories.
Yeah - I remember the huge war when the Czech Republic and Slovakia split
apart from being the old Czechoslovakia.
There is a big difference between 'externally applied partition' and
    internal partition.

  10. And an equally ill-informed statement to your views on Iraq.. Why do
you think opium was banned back in Victorian days? Something to do with
    it's addictiveness perchance?

It may not be a physically addictive as something like nicotine or
cocaine but it certainly is addictive.

I didn't say Not Addictive. I said not particularly so. It takes some

  14. Stairs, mate. Them's the dangerous buggers. 100% of all people who've
used stairs have, or will, die.

that's not what your boss says. I told him that you were home and
posting to ukrm. he replied laughingly that you hadn't responded to
    any work mail!
