Oddly, not in an official capacity but sort of, yes.

I'm in Manchester week after next - that's when the real fun starts.

I love 'em. Low flying with a skilled pilot is the canines cojones. My first
really brill experience was is in a Huey with a Vietnam vet at the controls,
flying near the Inner German Border as the Iron Curtain was known at the
time. Twenty-five minutes of sheer terror, 'kin ace.

The exhaust clag is wondrously Soviet. Works for a living but really is
    a bit shit.

I have pictures of BR locos that look like that a few weeks ex-works.
Someone made the effort to make it look pretty but really were wasting
their time. It makes me all misty eyed.

Unlikely I'll get away as there's a lot to be done; both morning and
    night.

We moan about our lot but who actively tries to change it?

I had a lesson in one, suprisingly sitting on a foam pad in a plastic bubble
at several thousand feet is not terrifying :)

This reads better if you revise the punctuation "Thanks Ace, you've
helped me make up my mind to sell my bike, wife and kids. Very pleased.

Apart from my obvious flippentry I am very glad that Ace survived such a
horrendous accident with little apparent long term damage and will be
able to continue his informative posts.
