I wasn't terrified, I got nauseous from all the bobbing around while
    looking down through my knees!

Well I wasn't exactly looking at the view, if that's what you mean.
Actually, there are some gaps in my memory - I remember being on the
chopper, but nbot being taken off it - maybe I'm still there and just
    dreaming all this...

    Well put.
It's pretty unusual for ukrm too, so don't complain.
Well quite - it's not exactly going to break the bandwidth, is it?
    Ta. I hope so too.

Gyros? Still on my ToDo list. There's a two-seat trainer that operates
at an airfield somewhere near me. Must get in touch before they ban
    them.

But how much? Mine was 2mg a shot, which was just about enough until
they put in the second chest drain, after which they (eventually) set
a 5mg/hour background level too. I was (still am) also on 4*100mg of
Novalgin daily and theree was also paracetamol or similar at some
    points.

    Hey, life's just a dream.

I mean none of this is really here, it's just a figment of your
    imagination.

My problem was when my instructor insisted on demonstrating the autogyro
effect. you do fall "sitting on a foam pad in a plastic bubble from several
    thousand feet"

Really glad you're okay (ish), obviously GWS.

Your comments about your leathers etc have struck a bit of a cord with me.
Recently I have been out a few times without being fuilly kitted up, and
TBH, it didn't feel "right" to me.
Back to full garb only for me. [1]

Ow. Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

    GWS.

I see Lozzo got in first with his offer of a tenner for the bike.
Pre-disastered is how I like 'em, too.

Christ, but you did that properly, didn't you?

I hope the recovery goes well, and you're not left with long term pain.
It sounds like in some ways you were very lucky, although I bet it
doesn't feel that way just yet!
