What is it with me and buying parts?

    After the interminable VFR brake disk saga, I figured I'll do something
    simple and swap the sidestand on the K for the one I bought off
    Motorworks a little while back.

    Took off the old one, compared with the new one and well, they're both
    BMW sidestands and both have the year 1992 cast into them.

    But that's roughly where the similarity ends. Great. Slightly different
    shape, different mounting lugs for the springs, that'll be off a
    different model then. And another part I have to send back.

    I just hope the bike starts without the sidestand fitted because I
    really can't be arsed to put the old, duff one back on.

    Hmm. They all seem to need that after a while. Must be the miles I do
