Comeon Biggus, even I had a virago out to 140kph. Ok, it was downhill
and a long time ago, before I got fat, but they're not _that_ bad. Try
    to turn a corner OTOH...

  4. I'm remembering the time one went around the outside of me up the Old Rd at
about 130, dragging everything, rider looking calm and collected in his
    t-shirt and cargoes.

Didn't end up feeling too embarrassed seeing as I was returning from
watching the same bloke pull 200m-long balance-point stand-up wheelies on
that same 250 Virago for half an hour.

Putting aside the 'should they or shouldn't they have substituted..?'
argument for a second I can say that I've replaced worn 010s with new
012s and can't pick any discernible difference in normal road riding.
I took my TLR to a track day in November and it went fine on them.
Haven't taken my YZF to the track yet but expect the same results if I
    do.

The only thing I can offer on the 010s is that they seem to drop off
rapidly in grip when at the end of their wear limit. I had two
seperate two-wheel drifts at EC a couple of years ago in the same lap
(toward the end of a push-on day) when the 010s were pretty well
    shagged.

If you don't end up swapping the 010 for an 012 I doubt you'll have
any major dramas, as the later version is a refinement rather than a
    revolution of its predecessor.
